| The Raviv Method helps overcome dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia and other learning difficulties. Raviv Wales will put you in contact with practitioners working in different parts of Wales, who are helping both adults and children to realise their full potential. Dyslexia This broad definition now covers a range of developmental problems, which can present individually or more likely in combination. They will be recognised as difficulties in one, some or all of these areas: reading, spelling, comprehension, handwriting, motor skills, (either fine or gross), numeracy, short-term memory, auditory processing, concentration and organizational skills. Any given diagnosis of dyslexia will include a combination of these problems to a greater or lesser degree. Each diagnosis will vary with the individual, which makes it difficult to give appropriate help in any way other than on an individual basis. |
Recently, a head teacher from a primary school in the Vale of Glamorgan invited us to carry out a trial of the Raviv Method with a small number of children. After the trial the head teacher wrote: ‘The Raviv programme clearly benefited the children who took part. Spelling and reading ages were significantly improved. The most noticeable benefit however came in the impact it had on the children’s overall levels of concentration and confidence.’ (Head Teacher Vale of Glamorgan Primary School, Wales ~ September 2009) The programme was delivered on a one-to one basis, with weekly sessions continuing until each child had completed the Raviv Method programme. The results were very promising and with this initial introduction we would hope to have the opportunity to undertake a further study in the future. |
