| Theory The last twenty years has seen many advances in our understanding of how the brain works. Scientific research teams continue to advance and develop our knowledge of this fascinating area. The Raviv Method was developed as a result of some of these discoveries in the area of cognitive and neurological science. We know that we can build and strengthen the neural pathways, which are responsible for carrying information between the brain and the whole body, by way of the nervous system. The nature of the Raviv Method, a focused motor sensory programme involving the whole body will help to build these new neurological connections. The resulting stronger connections will enable learning to be free of the difficulties previously experienced. It is necessary for all areas of the brain to function in co-ordination for effective learning to take place. It is working as we do, with the auditory, motor and visual systems in our combined and co-ordinated method, which makes our programme so successful. |
Testimonial "Before starting the Raviv Programme, my 11 year old dyslexic son lacked any confidence at reading, writing and making friends, he preferred to play alone and generally spent time either with me or by himself. It was about three quarters of the way through the programme that we all began to notice real changes in him. He has become far more talkative and confident and has even started to venture outside to play with others. For the first time in his life he seems to want to make friends with new people. The most fantastic change in him is that he wants to read, he has actually started borrowing books from his older brother. It has been truly miraculous to watch him change in ways that 6 months ago I never thought possible. He is no longer constantly angry and frustrated, but a much calmer, happier boy. The Raviv Programme has really changed his life for the better." (Mother of 11-year-old boy, Vale of Glamorgan ~ July 2009) |
